Bob Wire: Listen!

She Knows My Face (Like the Back of Her Hand)

(Bob Wire)
Ednor C. Therriault
David and I recorded this one last Thursday night. Fake drums, mediocre bass. But it works for me. That's David singing harmony, too.
I woke up this morning, left her lying in my bed
Drank a pot of coffee but it didn’t clear my head
Trying to remember what I said to make her mad
Last night’s fight might be the worst we ever had
Staring at the mirror at a pair of blackened eyes
I was halfway through the window when she caught me by surprise

Chorus
Like the man said just before he saw the light
Me and that woman got a license to fight
She’s my brawling baby and I’m her monkey man
She knows my face like the back of her hand

She don’t like to argue and she doesn’t like to yell
But she’s got a left hook that could really ring your bell
We get all excited when push comes to shove
She gets me in a chokehold and I really feel the love
She bites me on the shoulder as I’m tearing off her shirt
I’m a firm believer that you love the ones you hurt

Chorus
Bustin’ up the furniture and rollin’ ‘cross the floor
Tryin’ to teach a lesson to the woman I adore
She’s my brawling baby and I’m her monkey man
She knows my face like the back of her hand
