I wrote this a few years ago, while on vacation (where I write most of my songs). The first line used to be "so your get up and go done got up and went." But I decided it was too cliché, and replaced it with a lesser-known cliché.
That's David Colledge and me on the background vox.
You say your life’s a drag, nothin’ goin’ on but the rent
Every time you get a paycheck it’s already spent
Your man ain’t good for nothing ‘cept pitching a tent
Chorus
Call Mr. Fixit
He likes to get with it
You got a problem, he can lick it
He’ll put some gravy on your biscuit
You got the batter, he will mix it
Call Mr. Fixit
You say your hate your job but you’re afraid to quit
You’ve lost another boyfriend who’s afraid to commit
You’re retaining water and your jeans don’t fit
(not even the “fat” jeans)
Chorus
Call Mr. Fixit
He’ll tell your boss where to stick it
He’ll help you write your own ticket
He’ll have you chirping like a cricket
If you need your ass kicked he kicks it
Call Mr. Fixit
